My Story

When first starting my career, I applied to Cornell’s College of Human Ecology, a unique school allowing students to study interdisciplinary fields all with the goal of improving human lives. Today, this same desire to positively impact those around me drives my passion for design research and strategy. Through internships at Cornell’s Health Design Innovations Lab and Rev: Ithaca Startup Works, a local startup incubator, I was first able to apply my skills for real users and began to see the impact design can have.

My interest in user research and design strategy was further developed during my time as a Design Strategist at the architecture and design firm, Gensler. There, I applied design research methodologies to envision the future of work and identify user needs to inform the design of physical spaces. Working with a wide variety of clients, I honed my ability to scope tailored research plans, connect with diverse stakeholders, and share user stories. I also had the opportunity to lead a company-funded research project to design and prototype a mobile application for civic engagement in urban spaces. Wanting to explore the digital space further, I spent time reimagining the corporate real estate industry at the startup, Knotel, and working on complex enterprise design research projects at the product design and venture studio, Runyon Design.

To build my skillset further, I am currently pursuing my Master’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction at Carnegie Mellon University where I learn about how user experience can solve important challenges such as mitigating algorithmic biases and study human-AI collaboration as a research assistant in the CoALA Lab. Here, I continue to uncover unmet user needs, question user motivations, and design impactful human-centered experiences. My goal is to define opportunities for innovation and create user experiences that positively impact both businesses and, always, humans.
